Great except the clips break July 17, 2010 Dolf Daam (Victoria, Canada) I agree with all the positive points that the other reviewers have said. This could be an ideal case, but after only 2 weeks the clips that hold the two halfs together started breaking. I kept it together with electricians tape until they all broke off. Bargain cell was great and immediately sent me a replacement but after 2 days already one cip broke. Unfortunately without the clips the thing doesn't work. I'd gladly pay a dollar more to have the clips work properly, but as it is I've ordered a silicone case.
Lasted 2 years... not bad for a penny... June 21, 2010 R. RAMIREZ 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yes of course I had to pay shipping but still $4 for this is a good deal. I'd still have it if my daughter didn't drop it in a dark movie theater and lost one of the halves... I've dropped my iphone maybe 10 times in 2 years. still works, no cracks. the case has scratches though but that's what I bought it for, and the two halves almost always comes apart upon impact (asphalt and concrete sometimes) but it has always come back together snugly. The rubberized surface is not too slick not too tacky. and there are nice holes for all the controls I ever need and one for the charger. Stuff can get behind the case and the phone, in my case, some orange juice and maybe some sand, and there are some scratches on the back of my iphone from stuff getting in there, but it's not that bad, definitely within the realm of reason for a 2 year old phone.
The secret that not many seem to know is that if you use this case plus the Case Logic PDA holster, it fits perfectly. an iphone with a screen protector and hard shell case plus the convenience of a holster. I'm ordering another one right now actually.
Complete piece of junk June 21, 2010 D. Kirby (Montgomery, Al) I bought two of these and they were both broken within a week. The first one stayed on until I dropped the phone one time, and then the corner of the case shattered. I did keep the phone from taking the damage, but then it was done. The second one never really latched on very well, and then after maybe 2 days, at the most, the clip was completely worthless and the cover wouldn't even stay on.
My advice: go ahead and spend a little money to get a good case. These are worthless.
Sturdy Not! June 11, 2010 C. Soto (Ronkonkoma, New York United States) Not sturdy at all. The plastic was cheap and it broke on me the second day I recieved it
Pocket-friendly, but I wouldn't put it to the test... June 9, 2010 David L. Clark (Boise, Idaho USA) UPDATE:
Not even a month into ownership, this case started showing very heavy wear. All around the edges, the rubberized grip film began peeling away from its plastic body. And today, two of the clips, holding the case together, broke. So in under a month, this case has failed. This was not worth the couple of dollars I spent on shipping to order this.
Do NOT order this case if you plan to USE IT. Most of the positive reviews on here are within the first few days of ownership, and aren't updated when they realize how poorly made the case is.
I ordered this case for my 3G so that I would have a pocket-friendly and non-invasive case. I'm coming from an Otterbox Defender case. As most of you know, that is the #1 case for protection. It also adds a LOT of bulk, is difficult to clean and keep clean, is not easily removed from the pocket, the silicon stretches, etc. So I opted for this when I decided I didn't like the bulk anymore.
Upon unpacking the case, I see that there's just a shipping receipt with no sorts of instructions or anything. Now, it's obvious how to put the case on the iPhone, but getting it off, is certainly another task all in its own. You should only have to do so for a few occasions: to apply a protective film, to access the SIM card slot, or to put it in another case. So this does not happen much. I ended up breaking a nail trying to get it open; and I've got pretty strong fingernails (have to use toenail clippers on them). After about five minutes, I figured out the best way is to pry it open on both sides by lining up your fingernails with the clips that hold the case together.
Now, remember why I got this case; pocket-friendliness. Along with that, I did not want something shiny, slippery, or expensive. Nor did I want something that was going to break if I dropped it. This thing is exactly what I wanted. Its rubberized grip is very nice for playing games, texting, and just holding onto. It slips in and out of the pockets very easily. Great product! And at an unbeatable price!
