| Customer Reviews: Hard Crystal..? August 26, 2009 Techie Slave (Tacoma, WA) To describe this case as being a "Hard Crystal" case is far from reality. It's made of an extrememly cheap, flexible, and flimsy material. The only thing it will protect your iPhone from is scratches, but I wouldn't bet on it protecting your phone from any other type of damage.
I ended spending more money on the actual shipping than the product. It wasn't worth it to send it back so I threw it away. If I could have given less than 1 star I would have.
Good Value April 23, 2009 Richard Torgerud (Minnesota) I purchased this case about 6 weeks ago. I've very happy with it. Very slim fit, good protection, easy access to all controls. It's easy to fit the phone into the case (not so with all covers).
I used to use the thin film strips to protect the glas face of the iPhone, but found myself having to replace them frequently and they always seemed to get air bubbles in them. They also decreased the sensitivity of the touch screen a little. The polycarbonate face cover on this cover does not interfere any more than the thin covers.
Note - the face cover on this case does scratch fairly easily. I keep the phone in my pants pocket most of the time, so it's in and out frequently, rubs against coins, keys, etc... so I'm surprised that it's not more scratched up.
I have not had any problems with the screen blanking or by having a clear cover over the phone, as mentioned by the reviewer from Hawaii.
Also, I dropped my phone the other day. From my HD pickup truck window onto the asphault - maybe a 6-foot drop. No probs on the phone at all. I hate to think what it would have been like with my old case that I purchased from AT&T for $30!
Doesn't work with IPHONEs April 8, 2009 Salliezoo (hawaii USA) My husband purchased this for his IPHONE 3g last week. At first it seemed fine, but a few days later his screen kept going black (or blank)intermittently. He called an Apple IPHONE technician for help. The tech's first question was, "Do you have a hard, clear case over the face of your IPHONE?" When my husband said "yes" he told him to "take it off and leave it off" as it was causing the problem with the black/blank screen. The tech explained that the IPHONE is not engineered/designed for adding an additional cover over the face and operating the IPHONE "through" the overcase. He also mentioned that even the thin skins that some users put on the face to prevent scratching are not recommended. Either product could potentially interfere with your IPHONE's performance. Once my husband took the case off, the IPHONE worked just fine again. Problem solved. I have no idea why this product is sold if it screws up your Iphone! Anyway, save your money and go buy a nice leather case that flips up for use. Many of them are quite inexpensive, user friendly, look attractive, and do the job of saving your IPHONE from scratches & lint (from purse & pockets)as well as protecting it during the occasional, inadvertent drop to the floor. When you flip the top of the case up, you work directly off the original screen. I've used one for my IPOD 2g and it has worked just fine for me as protection. I think I only paid $5-$6 for it and it actually looks quite nice! Bought it online from Amazon from a company named BargainCell. There are several other vendors as well with cases in all price ranges. Hope this info helps and saves you a few $$$ for a product that could potentially cause damage to your IPHONE rather than helping.
