Great Portable Speakers March 17, 2010 AmorousAmber (Prague) I love these speakers, the sound quality is great. I do have a problem with the speakers falling off of things if I put the volume all the way up, they'll move themselves right off of a smooth surface. I've used these speakers with an ipod Classic and an ipod touch with no problems. I like to have music in the background for pretty much whatever I'm doing, so I usually keep these plugged in in my room and unplug them and carry them all over the house and out in the yard. I put them in the case and bring them along if I'm going to be sunbathing, going camping, going on vacation, etc.
Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 Speakers March 14, 2010 P. Rackley Great sound quality for the price and size!. Check out [...] for their ratings on these, and CNet. Both rate these highly.
Exciting to think that we can now enjoy some decent sounding music at an unpowered campsite on the way to Alaska!! Do wish that it had an FM receiver.
Feels like an 'experimental' product March 14, 2010 William Smith (Fontana, CA United States) Not sure if my title is all Logitechs fault but trying to have a unit such as this, compatible with so many different species of iPods is just not a good idea.
First of all let me say right out of the box I was unhappy -- I have a 30gb video classic iPod and NONE of the remote features worked -- none. I couldn't change songs, etc, with the remote, all I could do was turn the system volume UP and DOWN -- not a good start.
Secondly I bought this for portable use. I'm a courier with one of the 'big 2' overnight outfits and needed this in my truck.. ok, so the truck is pretty loud so I had to turn the volume all the up to just under MAX to hear it -- which in turn reduced the battery life to maybe half.. maybe more, but I work 10-11 shifts, I don't want 5 hours of music.. billing this unit as 10 hours is a little iffy IMO.
Thirdly, the unit itself is just cheaply made. The button layout if fair but they are far to stiff to use. The sound is actually decent.. until you crank it, and even then depending on the production of the artist it can still sound pretty good but overall I'd say too tinny.
The final nail -- 3 times my iPod froze. Usually at the beginning of a song, and usually when placing the ipod back on its dock.. it had to be this Logitech doing it as it's never froze up before in the 3 years I've had it.
All in all -- depending on what you need it for (would be ideal for kids), the price is ok, the sound is pretty decent but I returned mine and am waiting for something between this and the overpriced Bose unit.. or for the Bose unit to be half its current price.
Good product, iPOD centric which is a pain if you're not following the herd March 14, 2010 Stewart Gormley (Broomfield, CO United States) Nice product when you use it with an iPod...sucks a-a-a-sss when you use it with any other MP3 player...remote only really works with iPod connected...same with any other device controls like forwarding to next song (or any other device controls beyond volume)...any other MP3 has to connect through the jack in the back...product description doesn't explain the non-iPod limitations...ticked me off...but I have an iPod nano and it's a nice device when you use it with an Apple player.
If you're looking for a generic MP3 speaker box, this is not your best bet, and the seller is less than honest about what it can't do.
Great iPad docking speaker system March 12, 2010 J. Abuan (Birch Bay, WA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Really awesome sound from these little speakers. Beautiful design. Great price. Very good battery life. Takes up minimal space on the desk. I use the remote control more than I thought I would.
