3 out of 5 stars Not for people with small ears   March 19, 2010
J (Kaneohe, Hawaii)
I recently bought these JBuds J2 earbuds for my friend since the stock earphones she had weren't good enough. After reading many reviews on the different earbuds offered here on Amazon, I decided to go with these. I was looking for earphones to use for active people since she was going to use it for that purpose. I did consider getting the Sennheiser PMX80 Sport Series II Behind the Head Ear Phones For Sports, but some reviewers seemed to have problems with how comfortable they were, so I took a gamble and hoped these would work out well. After she received them, she told me that they didn't fit very well and were very tight and uncomfortable to wear even on the smallest sized buds. So the gamble I took on these didn't turn out so well, I'm going to have to get the JBuds J3 Micro Atomic In-Ear Earphones with Travel Case (Jet Black) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] with the extra small size buds for a better fit. The sound quality was of high quality as expected of JLabs, so that wasn't really a problem. So my recommendation is: if you think you have small ear canals, don't get these and go with the J3s instead for a better fit.

4 out of 5 stars Nice earbuds but a little big   March 18, 2010
Yasar Numan AKSANYAR (California, USA)
It is a good in-ear earphone but a little big. I usually use medium earbuds but with this one i have to use small earbuds. Other than that the quality is good. Maybe a little too loud for people usually listen music not much loud. Even with 15% volume in my laptop it gives normal levels like 50-60%.

5 out of 5 stars Great Buy   March 18, 2010

Was a great buy. Saved me lots of money and is much better quality than headphones the same price in retail stores.

3 out of 5 stars Good Sound, Poor Quality   March 17, 2010
M. Guilfoyle (Tampa)
Really have been enjoying these. Use them for my daily workouts and they have worked great. I am very careful with my earbuds because I've had two pairs stop working after nine months or so due to general wear and tear. These lasted three months. The cabling is coming apart at the connector and now the sound is intermittent. Want to get a new pair of these based on the sound quality, but may look at another brand hoping for better overall quality.

2 out of 5 stars Decent Build Quality, Surprisingly Bad Sound   March 16, 2010
N. Obbards (Washington)
After reading the reviews for the J2s and J3s and seeing how good JBuds customer service appears to be, I went ahead and purchased a pair of these earbuds because I figured that they would best fit how I like my music to sound. When I got them, I plugged them into my iPod, set my playlist to shuffle all songs, and then ran them that whole afternoon and that night. When I first popped them in, they sounded subpar, but I figured that they just needed to be burned in. That was not the case. I have tried them across my iPod, my Zune, and my computer and they sound equally bad on all three. They sound muted and hollow, are rife with distortion caused by all but the highest end bass, and muddy otherwise clear music. The extreme highs are muted and the lows cause extreme distortion, while the mid-range is often overpowering. The only music that sounds moderately good with them are relatively simple acoustic and folksy music like Alela Diane and Damien Rice or low-fi music like early Modest Mouse or Comrade (then again, low-fi sounds best with poor sound reproduction). They are an improvement for the earbuds that come with your iPod, Zune, or whatever other MP3 player, but they are not for me.

The only reason I'm not giving a one star review is because the build quality is not bad.
