I use this dock as a charger/alarm clock for my droid at night. It is easy to get into and out of the dock and has a nice clock and weather display while docked. It does seem to get a little hot, but this is probably due to the backlight remaining on while docked.

I have wanted this accessory since I bought my Droid last December. I couldn't see paying $30.00 for it. I got this one for $15.99 and it is the exact same one that sells now on the Motorola website for $39.99. I like the fact that you can listen to music, watch movies or TV shows while charging your phone. You can also use your phone as an alarm clock which would be handy if you travel a lot. While the USB cable is the same length as the one that comes with the phone, you can always buy one a six foot cable on Amazon for $2.99. It is sold by Mediabridge LLC and shipped by Amazon so you can get it quick if you have Prime. I am in the middle of my Prime trial membership and have to say I love it. Free 2 day shipping or $3.99 an item for next day delivery. You can't be the price.
If you have every thought of getting one of these multimedia docking stations now is the time.

First time ever I've been disappointed by an Amazon purchase--this model comes up when you search for "Droid X docking station"...and no where indicates in its current description that it doesn't work with a Droid X--return, nuisance.

I'm very pleased with this product. Not only does it provide a stable place to put your phone, it also delivers a quick (less than an hour) charge. When the phone is inserted into the dock internal software is enabled and the device becomes a nice *clock radio* with soft buttons for alarm, photo slide show, music, time and temperature. It also shows charge status and provides a very noticeable boost in bluetooth power increasing the range to about 30 feet when playing music through my wireless headphones.
